MV Aerial Bundled Cables (MV-ABC)

  • MV-ABC are suitable for aerial installation and for public power distribution networks with rated voltages of  6/10 Up to and including 18/30 KV, Fixed for pylons, clamped to tunnel walls , etc.
  • Assembled cores are the same as the ones of MV underground cables. Hence, they can be buried if necessary.


Technical Specification

In the voltage designation of U0/U(Um), The rated voltages of the cables considered in IEC standard are as follows: U0/U(Um)= 6/10(12) - 12/20(24) - 18/30(36)KV
U0 is the rated power frequency voltage between conductor and earth or metallic screen.
U is the rated power frequency voltage between conductors.
Um is the maximum value of the "highest system voltage" for which the equipment may be used.

Construction features:

-Conductor size : Up to 240 sq.mm

- No. of cores : Three

-Conductor material: Aluminum

-Conductor type: Compacted Round stranded

-Conductor screen : Semi-conductive compound
-Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE)

-Insulation screen : Semi-conductive compound

-Metallic screen : Copper wires, Copper tape or combination of wires & tape

-Sheath: Black Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or high density polyethylene ( HDPE)

-Messenger :Bare or insulated galvanized stranded steel wires.

-Design: MV Aerial bundled cables are made of three XLPE insulated cores assembled around an  insulated or bare steel messenger.

Other features :

-Ultra violet (UV) resistant

-Low smoke and fume (LSF)

-Halogen free and flame retardant (HFFR)
